How to I register for the event?

You may register to attend the Rise ‘n Shine Festival online. Sign up for the 20K (solo or relay team), 5K or as a Spectator (non-runner). As you register you will have the option to add the Friday evening VIP party which includes dinner, beer (21+), and tent or RV camping.

Registration will remain open until Friday June 7th, but we recommend that you register online ahead of time. There will be no race day registration. Register early to beat the price increases.

What is the weekend schedule?

  • Thursday June 6: Advanced check-in/packet pickup (location TBD)

  • Friday June 7 VIP Party

    • Shakori Hills Community Arts Center gates open at 3 PM

    • VIP Check-in/Registration from 4-7 pm at The Barn.

    • VIP dinner and beer (21+) 6-8 pm

    • Live music 6-9:30 pm at The Barn

  • Saturday June 8:

    • 7-8:45 AM Race Day Check-In/Registration

    • 7-9 AM Coffee/breakfast available for sale at The Barn

    • 9 AM Beer tickets for sale at The Barn

    • 9 AM 20K Race Start (Solo & Relay)

    • 10 AM Beer available 21+ (with beer tickets)

    • 10:30 AM 5K Race Start

    • 10:30 AM - 3:30 PM Live music

    • 11 AM - 1 PM BBQ lunch (included with both runner and non-runner registraitons)

Can I participate as both a relay team member and run the 5K race?

Yes - you may register separately as a relay team member and as a 5K runner. You will need to be one of the early relay runners so that you have completed your leg of the relay and are at the start line ready to race the 5K at 10:30. (You would only need to add the VIP option to one of the two registrations if you want to come for the Friday evening festivities.) You will receive 2 race bibs - one for the 20K and one for the 5K.

What if I register and the event is cancelled?

Register Without Risk. We fully intend to hold the event in-person, but if conditions such as strong COVID restrictions should cause cancellation, your registration fee will be refunded.

When and How do I check in at the event?

On-site check-in/packet pickup:

The main parking area opens at 3 PM on Friday for VIP participants VIP check-in at The Barn from 4-7 pm on Friday

Saturday check-in at The Barn and from 7am - 9 am.

If you purchased VIP RV camping, head to the RV area to select your spot. Once you park, head to The Barn to check in. You will receive a RV pass which must be displayed in the front window of your RV.

If you purchased RV tent camping, head to the camping area to select your spot. Once you park, head to The Barn to check-in. You will receive a tent camping pass which must be displayed in front of your tent.

How do I check in for the running races?

When you check-in on Thursday or at The Barn on Friday afternoon/evening or Saturday morning you will receive your race bib(s).

If you are running the 20K Solo you will receive a 20K bib with a timing chip on the back. If you are running the 20K relay your 20K bib will not have a timing chip, but you will receive a single race baton for your team (with timing chip inside). The team member currently running will carry the baton and hand it off to the next runner near the lap/finish line.

If you are running the 5K you will receive a 5K bib with a timing chip on the back.

What’s included in the Friday VIP Ticket?

  • Friday evening VIP dinner with beer (21+) and soft drinks

  • Live music (band TBD)

  • Moonshine mason jar style shot glass

  • Camping is included (tent or RV)
